Artist Series 589 for the First Baptist Church in Augusta, KS.

Two organists from First Baptist Church in Augusta, Kansas called to say they were coming to the Rodgers showroom. Five hours later they decided on a new three manual Rodgers 589 for their church!

The new Rodgers 589 three manual organ replaces a three manual Conn instrument installed in the church in the 1970s. The congregation wanted to maintain the original look of the sanctuary so the four sets of Conn pipes were left in place.

The lower two Conn pipe units were re-built with new speakers and they play the Great principal chorus. The rest of the organ plays through a double audio system located in two large chambers on either side of the choir. The 589 was the perfect choice to lead this vibrant congregation in worship…whatever style it might be.
