Hybrid Installation Spotlight: Holy Family Parish

A few years ago, Gerald Oehring & Associates — our dealer for Nebraska, Western Iowa, and Kansas City — played a key role in relocating and rebuilding a magnificent pipe organ for Holy Family Parish in North Kansas City. At that time, we worked to integrate the rebuilt pipe organ with the church’s existing Rodgers console, a cherished instrument from their previous sanctuary. This solution was an important step in preserving the legacy of the organ while adapting it to the new, greatly expanded sanctuary. However, from the very beginning, the church envisioned an even greater future for their music ministry—a dream of pairing their beloved pipe organ with a modern console that could truly match the grandeur and acoustic possibilities of the space.

This year, that dream came to fruition with the installation of a Rodgers Imagine 351 console. This state-of-the-art console now interfaces seamlessly with the 20+ rank pipe organ, combining traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge digital technology. At the heart of this integration is Direct Streaming technology, an innovation by the Global Organ Group. This technology ensures a perfectly cohesive blend between the pipe ranks and the digital voices of the Imagine console, creating a truly unified and immersive musical experience.

The addition of the Imagine 351 has not only elevated the sonic capabilities of the organ but has also expanded its versatility for worship and performance. The console provides organists with intuitive controls, a vast array of high-fidelity digital voices, and the ability to enhance the pipe organ’s natural brilliance with orchestral tones and effects. This integration represents a perfect harmony between tradition and innovation, honoring the church’s legacy while empowering its future.

For Holy Family Parish, this upgrade signifies more than just a technical enhancement—it’s a profound step forward in their commitment to enriching worship through music. The powerful combination of pipes and digital technology now fills their sanctuary with a depth and richness of sound that inspires both the congregation and visiting musicians alike. We’re proud to have been part of this journey and look forward to hearing how this remarkable instrument continues to elevate worship at Holy Family Parish for generations to come.
